I read little bits of everything. My mystery preference is cozy. I enjoy science fiction, but do not have a science background. And I'm a hobbit from wayback before I was old enough to vote.
I love Maureen Johnson. She falls somewhere between Sarah Dessen & Laurie Halse Anderson, teens put in real life situations but not as depressing as Anderson can be. In this book Scarlett is turning 15 years old. She lives in the Hopewell Hotel with her family that runs it. Scarlett is depressed all her friends are off doing exciting things for the summer & she's stuck in NYC. Not the NYC that all us non NYCers dream about but the real NYC that people live in. All that changes when a mysterious guest checks into the hotel for the whole summer. Scarlett and her family will never be the same.
