Nutti's muses

I read little bits of everything.  My mystery preference is cozy.  I enjoy science fiction, but do not have a science background.  And I'm a hobbit from wayback before I was old enough to vote.

When You Reach Me (Stead, Rebecca)

When You Reach Me - Rebecca Stead I always love it when the Newbury committee chooses a book with broad appeal. That's certainly the case here. Miranda is a NYC kid in the late 1970s. She has her best friend Sal who lives downstairs from her. Her mom is practicing to be on the $20,000 Pyramid. Her favorite book is A Wrinkle in Time . I really really liked Miranda's voice. I could see her, heck I could have been her...just a few years younger. The time travel part is really interesting too.
